OI: 6. in 11. mesto OG: 6th and 11th place
EP: 1 bronasta EC: 1 bronze

Življenjsko in tekmovalno pot Tineta Šrota so zaznamovali marljivost, disciplina in želja po popolnosti, s katerimi se je dvignil visoko nad povprečje.

Hardwork, discipline and a desire to achieve perfection were the trademarks of gymnast Tine Šrot. A colleague of world gymnastics sensation Miroslav Cerar, the native of Celje contributed to the major achievements of the Yugoslav gymnastics team in the 1960s. At the 1964 Olympics in Tokyo and the 1968 Olympics in Ciudad de Mexico, he helped the team to 6th and 11th place finishes. He also took 25th place in the individual competition on the rings both times. The rings were his favourite discipline and he was a medal hope at the 1963 European Championships in Belgrade. Unfortunately, the pressure got to him and he did not complete his routine flawlessly. Still angry from the disappointment on the rings, he would go on to surprise in the vault by taking 3rd place. While his routines were less demanding than those of Cerar, he implemented them close to perfection.
